What
| Date: Wednesday, February18, 2009 | | Title: Rhino.Mocks | Abstract: Have you ever tried unit testing your software but found things like e-mail, database servers, file servers to be frustrating and error prone? Did your tests become very large and overly complex because of the number of things that can take place down a single code path?
Solve some of your problems with a mocking framework, like Rhino.Mocks. We're going to be investigating Rhino.Mocks and how you can use it to "Mock" your dependencies. Instead of testing against the real database, why not use a "fake" database which returns the results you need to verify your code works correctly? Instead of testing against an e-mail server verify that the correct information would have been passed to the e-mail server. This can help isolate the code you are trying to test, making smaller, more maintainable tests.
We're going to talk about the current Rhino.Mocks features and terms such as Record/Replay, Stubs, Mocks and Dynamic Mocks as well as the new Arrange, Act, Assert syntax of the Rhino Mocks 3.5 Beta. | | Speaker: John Chapman | | John Chapman is a C# developer who has been working with .NET technologies for over six years.
